Corrales, New Mexico Residential project
(in progress)

The project is a fully sustainable residential complex in which new passive/active energy technologies blend and interact with the architecture of the spaces. The employment of ancient materials and technologies such as wind cooling towers and thick thermal-mass walls are juxtaposed with the lightness of glass monitors and transparent diaphragms oriented toward the views. The tactile quality of the stucco plays off the "coolness" of metal and concrete. All roof run-off is collected and used to irrigate the site. The landscape is populated by a vineyard and drought resistant trees and plants which act together in the composition of shade, paths, visual corridors and enclosures that compress and expand the sense of space.
