Col Solare - Yakima Valley, WA

This is a conceptual design for a modern winery with comparative typological analysis of historical models. The slope, wind, sun exposure and vineyard were all elements dictating and directing the architectural solutions: an inhabited wall for protection, windmill tower for power, gravity fed winery optimizing the slope and an inner court/cloister with shady porticos.
